Ms. Cristina Harea, Deputy Governor of the NBM

 

Ms. Cristina Harea was appointed as Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, member of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Moldova by the Parliament’s Decision no. 223 of 23 September 2016.

Ms. Cristina Harea is born in 1973 in Chişinău, Republic of Moldova. Ms. Harea holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages (1997), Moldova State University and a Master’s Degree in Business Management, Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, Durham, North Carolina, USA.   

At the date of her appointment, Ms. Cristina Harea had more than 14 years of experience in the financial–banking and investment sectors.

Before becoming a Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, member of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Moldova, Ms. Harea held the position of Investment Director and Country Director for the Republic of Moldova within Gazelle Finance – Investment Fund, specialized in financing small and medium-sized enterprises in formation process for Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and potentially Ukraine.

In 2002 -2006, she held the positions of Investment Associate/Senior Investment Associate within the "Western NIS Enterprise Fund" Permanent Representative in the Republic of Moldova.

In 2006 – 2014, Ms. Harea served as Investment Manager and Director of "Horizan Capital Advisors" LLC Representative in the Republic of Moldova.

During 2002-2014, he was member of the Administrative Boards of the licensed commercial banks, non-bank financial institutions and other companies.

Ms. Cristina Harea was President and member of the Council of Administration of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (2006 – 09.2016). During her activity, she was also member of the Economic Council of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova (2013 - 2015), member of the Council of Administration/President of Finance Committee (2010-2015), member of Supervisory Council of the Moldova East European Foundation (2015 – 09.2016). 

Ms. Cristina Harea has acquired extensive experience and expertise in business, investment, financial-banking sectors during her career.
