Mr. Dumitru Ursu, Member of the of the Supervisory Board

 

 

Mr. Dumitru Ursu was appointed as a Member of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Moldova by the Parliament Decision no. 202 of 29 July 2016.

Mr. Dumitru Ursu is born in 1960 in Vărzăreşti, Nisporeni, Republic of Moldova. Mr. Ursu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economic Sciences, specialized in Finance and Credit, Moldova State University (1983). 

At the date of his appointment, Mr. Dumitru Ursu had more than 32 years of experience in the financial-banking sector. Currently, he is the President of the Bankers’ League of the Republic of Moldova. 

Mr. Dumitru Ursu started his activity in 1983 as an Economist at the URSS “Gosbank” branch in Ungheni.

In 1992-2006, he held the position of First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Administration.

In 2006-2007, Mr. Ursu was the President of National Securities Commission.

During his professional activity, he has been decorated with many state distinctions:  Honorary Title „Om emerit” – 1996, Order „Gloria Muncii” – 2006, Honorary Order of the Republic of Moldova – 2012.
