Natan Garştea - Advisor to the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) in the economic and communication field

 

Natan Garștea holds the position of Advisor to the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) as of 26 September 2016. Additionally, Natan Garstea holds the position of Head of the Financial Stability Division within the NBM.

Natan Garștea was born in 1976 in Chisinau. He holds the title of economist, Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest (1998), being specialized in World Economy.

At the date of his appointment, Natan Garstea had over 18 years of experience in the financial sector field. Before becoming Advisor to the Governor of the NBM, he held the position of Director of the Financial Banking Program, Expert-Grup.

Mr. Garstea began his professional activity in 1998 as Analyst Economist at the JSC "D-Broker".  

During 1998-2001, he held the positions of Specialist coordinator, Deputy Director of the Department of Monitoring, Economics and Finance of the National Commission of Securities Market (now National Commission for Financial Markets). 

In 2001, he held the position of Financial Analyst within the First Cadaster Project, which was implemented by the World Bank in the Republic of Moldova.

During 2001-2003, Mr. Garstea held the position of Advisor to the Chairman of the National Commission of Securities Market.

In the period 2003 – 2015, he worked as General Director of the Rating and Assessment Agency „Estimator-VM”.

During the period of March-June 2015, he held the position of State Principal Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.

In the period of May-September 2016, he worked as an Independent Analyst at "Expert-Grup".

In addition to the basic activity, Mr. Garstea has accumulated a rich teaching experience, delivering financial markets subjects at higher education institutions such as: Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, State University of Moldova and Free International University of Moldova.

During his career, Natan Garstea has acquired extensive experience and expertise in the economic field.
