Victor Colta - Advisor to the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova in the field of monetary policy and financial markets

 

Victor Colta was appointed as Advisor to the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) as of 30 January 2018.

Victor Colta was born in 1974 in Chisinau. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economic Relations, Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (1996) and a Master's Degree in Finance and International Relations, University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, USA (2002).

At the date of his appointment, Victor Colta had over 26 years of experience in the financial sector.

Prior to becoming as Advisor to the NBM’s Governor, he worked as a specialist in risk management and strategic development for Moldova, Albania, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the KIVA Fund in San Francisco, USA.

Mr. Colţa started his career in 1992 as a Consultant and Assistant in Development Planning SRL, in Chisinau, being involved in international projects and attracting foreign capital as direct investment.

During 1996-2000, he founded the “Moldova-Pennsylvania” NGO and established co-operation with Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA, aiming to implement the US-funded projects.

In the period of 2002-2015, he worked as a specialist in International Capital Market Transactions within the Gelber Group in Chicago.

In 2016, Victor Colta joined the Rotary Club International Sarajevo Delta and participated in technical assistance and charity projects implemented by the association.

During his career, Victor Colta has acquired extensive experience and expertise in the field of financial and money markets.
