June 4 is also the day the National Bank of Moldova, founded 33 years ago.
It is an opportunity to express my appreciation to all those who contribute to the stability and development of the banking sector in Moldova.
This year's anniversary comes at a time of transformation for the whole country. We are starting the process for accession to the European Union, and the National Bank is the main pillar in many negotiating chapters.
In these times of change, we have demonstrated that we are able to adapt quickly and implement modern solutions that build public confidence and ensure a robust and transparent financial environment.
We have made key reforms to improve financial services and support the national economy. I will mention the MIA instant payment system, which facilitates fast and efficient transactions for citizens and businesses. The signing of Moldova's application for SEPA membership is also a major step towards integration into the European payments area, bringing us closer to the benefits offered by the European Union.
All these things have become possible thanks to your effort, which is now essential for the process of Moldova's accession to the European Union.
The projects we are carrying out are vital for the future of the country and you are the driving force behind these achievements.
Let's mobilise together to build a strong and reliable banking sector, able to respond to challenges and seize opportunities!
