On 1 July 2016, the project of the National Bank of Moldova on Credit Risk Register [1] reached the experimental exploitation phase, which will last for 40 days.
Credit Risk Register is a system for recording and processing information related to credit risk resulting from financial activity of banks. This system will store and centralise identification data of counter parties, those related to financial assets and liabilities of banks subject to credit risk. The Register will be used for the revision, rectification and classification of debtors of banks in order to assess the adequacy of provisions, depending on the level of risk to problematic assets and liabilities, and to identify the trends of credit portfolios.
At this stage of the project, for a better transparency of licensed banks activity, the National Bank of Moldova has made available to the public a new report on the classification of credits by branch [2].
