The gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova totaled EUR 10 520,6 million as of 03/31/2026, which is 58,0% as a ratio to GDP (+1,9 p.p. as compared to 12/31/2025).
The public external debt accounted for 43,2% of the total external debt and totalled EUR 4 545,1 million (+5,4% as compared to the end of the previous year). The private external debt accounted for 56,8% of the total external debt and totalled EUR 5 975,5 million, increasing by 3,0% as compared to 12/31/2025.
