Every success today has its roots in the courage and unity of Moldovans in August 1991, when, with a loud voice and a firm heart, they demanded their freedom.
Today, Independence Day is a time to renew the commitment that what was won then will be preserved and strengthened through unity and respect for democratic values.
At the National Bank of Moldova, this commitment comes to life through our efforts to ensure financial stability, modernise the payments infrastructure, strengthen trust in the banking system, and accelerate the digitalisation of financial services.
This year’s historic decision to integrate the Republic of Moldova into the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) marks a decisive step towards the full connection of the national economy to the European space, facilitating fast, secure, and efficient payments for citizens and businesses. Every action is guided by the responsibility to build a safe, open, and competitive economy that people can trust.
Independence is a responsibility assumed today and a firm commitment to build the future that every citizen of the Republic of Moldova deserves.
