Ms Anca Dragu at the Women’s Excellence Gala: Recognizing performance encourages societal development

The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Ms Anca Dragu, attended the Women’s Excellence Gala, an event of the "Together We Protect Romania" series, organised in Bucharest by the MediaUno Press Group, in partnership with the Department for Sustainable Development, the National Institute of Statistics, and the MediaUno Association.

Now in its fourth edition, the Women’s Excellence Gala highlights women who, through professionalism, leadership, and public involvement, contribute to societal development and the promotion of authentic values in key areas of economic, social, and cultural life.

"The progress of a society is closely linked to the ability of its people to build together, to leverage their potential, and to transform ideas into projects that bring real benefits to the community. Public recognition of performance and involvement is an appreciation of the results achieved and a signal of encouragement for initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and the strengthening of a society based on values. By participating in this event, the National Bank of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to promoting dialogue, regional cooperation, European values, and supporting initiatives that contribute to the development of a modern society based on responsibility, professionalism, and involvement," emphasized Ms Anca Dragu.

During the gala, the NBM Governor presented an excellence trophy to Ms Liana Stanciu, a Romanian radio and television presenter, in recognition of her contribution to society's development and the professional and public impact of her work. Liana Stanciu was part of the presenting team at Radio Contact, Radio Star, and collaborated with Antena 1 and B1 TV.

This year's edition of the Women’s Excellence Gala spotlighted 44 successful women who stood out through their performance, courage, and ability to turn challenges into opportunities, becoming role models for society.

The event, held at the National Museum of Art of Romania, the Royal Palace, in the Throne Hall – a space with strong symbolic significance associated with values, culture, and institutional continuity – focused on equal opportunities, female leadership, and professional solidarity, highlighting the increasingly important role of women in public life, the economic environment, and in societal transformation processes.

At the 2025 edition of the Excellence Gala, the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Ms Anca Dragu, was awarded the "Excellence Award for shaping the European trajectory of the National Bank of Moldova," in recognition of the strategic direction and efforts to align the institution with European standards.
