National Bank of Moldova (NBM) launches design competition for jubilee and commemorative coins, issuance of 2025 and 2026 (according to the list below).
The competition is open to individuals who have reached the age of 18, as well as legal entities. There is no limit to the number of drafts that a participant may submit for a specific topic; however, each selected topic must be accompanied by at least two conceptually different drafts. Participants are required to comply with the legislation on copyright and related rights.
The main criteria for selecting the submitted designs refers to the originality, creativity, esthetics, and the coherence of design elements, ensuring their feasibility for minting on the surface of coins.
The requirements regarding coin design, evaluation and selection procedures, remuneration details, and other relevant information are outlined in the Procedure for the design competition for jubilee and commemorative coins, issuance of 2025 and 2026 [1] (enclosed below).
The remuneration for each winning design is MDL 15 000. The NBM also reserves the right to publicly announce the winner’s name, on its official website and/or through press releases, and to include it in the certificates of authenticity that accompany the respective commemorative coin.
