According to preliminary data, in Quarter I, 2026, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of EUR -806,2 million and decreased by 17,1% compared to the similar period of the previous year. The current account to GDP ratio amounted to -20,9%. The capital account recorded a positive balance amounting to EUR 7,2 million, and the financial account recorded a net inflow of EUR 641,7 million.
