The gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova totaled EUR 10 423,6 million as of 06/30/2026, increasing by 5,1% since the beginning of the year, which constituted 56,9% as a ratio to GDP.

The public external debt accounted for 41,9% of the total external debt and totalled EUR 4 362,5 million (+1,2% as compared to the end of 2025). The private external debt accounted for 58,1% of the total external debt and totalled EUR 6 061,0 million, increasing by 8,1% as compared to 12/31/2025.
