The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) selected 17 graphic design specialists [1] who will cooperate with the NBM on the future numismatic projects.
The selection criteria were: originality, creativity, coherence of design elements, as well as fabrication feasibility.
The list includes specialists who have been selected based on the results of a public contest [2], announced by the NBM in August. In addition, the list includes painters with whom the NBM has already collaborated on the execution of the jubilee and commemorative coin designs, as well as the winners of the design contest [3] for the execution of designs for metal coins of MDL 1 and MDL 2, organised last summer.
The National Bank thanks all contestants for their participation and looks forward for a close collaboration in the future.
The selected designers will receive honoraria ranging between MDL 5,000 and 10,000 for each design approved by the NBM.
Currently, the NBM’s collection [4] includes 130 commemorative and jubilee coins and banknotes. The first commemorative coin was issued by the National Bank of Moldova in 1996.
