According to preliminary data, the gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova increased by 10,5% during the first semester of 2025 and totaled 11 408,70 million as of 06/30/2025, which is 60,6% as a ratio to GDP (+3,9 p.p. as compared to 12/31/2024).
The public external debt accounted for 42,0% of the total external debt and totalled US$ 4 794,34 million (+11,1% as compared to the end of the previous year). The private external debt amounted to US$ 6 614,36 million and increased by 10,1% as compared to 12/31/2024.
