Podcast about money: What age should you start financial education from

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) together with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is offering you a new podcast in the series “Give sense to money” about the growing importance of financial education and models to strengthen it in the world and the Republic of Moldova. The guest of Liliana Barbarosie is Bianca Isaincu, policy analyst on financial literacy and sustainable funding at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) based in Paris, France.

The OECD expert answers a series of questions on developments in promoting financial education at national and international levels. These include:

  • How has financial education evolved over a decade?
  • What are the top three goals for the future of financial education?
  • Why are national strategies needed?
  • What age does financial education start at and what are the models according to which it is introduced in the school curriculum?
  • Why is financial education important for the elderly?
  • What challenges do economic crisis and digitalisation pose to public policies? etc.

The podcast host and her guest also discuss various solutions, identified nationally and internationally, for tackling over-indebtedness, taking excessive financial risks, and managing personal budgets in a balanced way.

The podcast can be watched on 13 July from 9.00 am on the following platforms:

The podcast "Give sense to money" aims to systematically explain economic subjects as the crises of recent years have repeatedly highlighted the need to strengthen the financial education of Moldovan citizens.
