National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

Banca Națională a Moldovei (BNM) organizează, în perioada 7-14 iulie 2023, un concurs pentru selectarea participanților la „Școala finanțelor moderne”, destinată în prima ediție masteranzilor specializați în finanțe de la Academia de Studii Economice din Moldova (ASEM). Acest proiect de anvergură, inițiat în colaborare cu Banca Națională a României alături de ASE București, va oferi tinerilor o experiență de studiu și comunicare inedite timp de o săptămână, în perioada 22-30 iulie anul curent.
Programul va lua startul la Chișinău cu o întrevedere a guvernatorului Băncii Naționale a Moldovei, Octavian Armașu, și se va desfășura la București, România, împreună cu un program cultural prevăzut în orașele Iași, Brașov, Suceava și Sinaia.
Participanții la „Școala finanțelor moderne” vor avea un prilej unic să audieze într-un asemenea format prelegeri susținute de experți de la Banca Națională a României în colaborare cu ASE din București și să ia parte la întâlniri cu personalități din domeniul financiar-bancar din România, în mod special cu guvernatorul BNR, Mugur Isărescu. La final, masteranzii vor primi un certificat semnat de guvernatorii BNM și BNR, precum și de rectorii ASE București și ASEM.
Participarea studenților din Republica Moldova la „Școala finanțelor moderne” este susținută parțial de Programul USAID „Reforme Instituționale și Structurale în Moldova” (MISRA), care sprijină eforturile BNM în accelerarea reformelor în sectorul financiar, sporirea nivelului de educație și incluziune financiară.
„Școala finanțelor moderne” va fi organizată de două ori pe an – în a doua jumătate a lunilor iulie și septembrie, în România, în bază de concurs. Criteriile de se selecție a participanților sunt descrise în Procedura privind organizarea concursului pentru participarea la programul „Școala finanțelor moderne”.
Prin lansarea acestui proiect, organizatorii își propun să intensifice eforturile de sprijinire a procesului de formare profesională a tineretului studios din Republica Moldova, care să contribuie ulterior atât la fortificarea breslei de economiști, cât și la incluziunea financiară a cetățenilor Republicii Moldova.
