National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

Încă 15 studenți și masteranzi de la Academia de Studii Economice din Moldova (ASEM) vor participa la „Școala finanțelor moderne”, după ce au fost selectați în cadrul unui concurs. Aceștia au avut o întrevedere organizată la sediul BNM, cu guvernatorul Octavian Armașu.
La eveniment au mai participat rectorul ASEM, Alexandru Stratan, prorectorul Victoria Cociug și doctorul în științe economice Angela Belobrov, precum și tinerii din prima ediție a programului.
În cuvântul de salut, guvernatorul BNM a menționat că „Școala finanțelor moderne” este un proiect istoric, lansat în parteneriat cu Banca Națională a României și Academia de Studii Economice din București, care trebuie fortificat.
„Este o experiență unică, în cadrul căreia studenții au posibilitatea să vadă cum funcționează o bancă centrală. Aceștia au șansa de a discuta la direct cu personalități remarcabile din România, de a audia prelegeri etc. Este o oportunitate ce îi va ajuta în dezvoltarea profesională”, a subliniat Octavian Armașu.
La rândul său, Alexandru Stratan, a menționat importanța continuării programului. „În așa mod, studenții au posibilitatea să își lărgească orizontul de cunoștințe”, a spus rectorul ASEM.
A doua ediție a „Școlii finanțelor moderne” se va desfășura în perioada 9-17 septembrie 2023. Tinerii vor avea posibilitatea să îmbine experiențe de studiu în capitala României cu activități cultural-istorice în orașe reprezentative precum Iași, Brașov, Suceava și Sinaia. În București, studenții vor avea întrevederi și cu guvernatorul Băncii Naționale a României, Mugur Isărescu.
La finalizarea programului, vor fi oferite certificate semnate de guvernatorii Băncii Naționale a Moldovei și Băncii Naționale a României, precum și de rectorii Academiei de Studii Economice din București și Academiei de Studii Economice din Moldova.
Participarea studenților din Republica Moldova la „Școala finanțelor moderne” este susținută parțial de Programul USAID „Reforme Instituționale și Structurale în Moldova” (MISRA), care sprijină eforturile BNM în accelerarea reformelor în sectorul financiar, sporirea nivelului de educație și incluziune financiară.
