National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

Guvernatoarea Băncii Naționale a Moldovei, Anca Dragu, s-a întâlnit astăzi cu participanții la programul „Școala finanțelor moderne”, desfășurat împreună cu Banca Națională a României (BNR) și Academia de Studii Economice (ASE) din București pentru studenții de la Academia de Studii Economice din Moldova (ASEM).
În cadrul discuției, Anca Dragu le-a înmânat certificate tinerilor care, ca urmare a programului, au susținut prelegeri de educație financiară pentru elevi, tineri, pensionari, dar și alte persoane care locuiesc în zone rurale. Astfel, au fost făcute prezentări la subiectul financiar-bancar și nebancar, precum și în domeniul asigurărilor, în toată țara.
„Ne dorim să contribuim la formarea noilor generații de economiști și așteptăm să devenim colegi, aici, la Banca Națională. Vom continua acest program pentru a încuraja câți mai mulți tineri să participe la educarea financiară a cetățenilor și la creșterea economică a țării”, a remarcat guvernatoarea BNM.
Anca Dragu a menționat că orientarea spre studiu determină în mare măsură viitorul unei societăți. În acest sens, BNM este determinată să ajute tinerii să își stabilească prioritățile de dezvoltare ca profesioniști, dar și ca cetățeni ai unei țări ce împărtășește valorile europene.
La rândul lor, tinerii și-au exprimat entuziasmul de a fi parte a procesului de educație financiară, fapt care a devenit posibil după participarea lor la „Școala finanțelor moderne”. Aceștia și-au împărtășit impresiile de neuitat de a interacționa cu personalități din domeniul financiar din România, care le-au oferit în cadrul programului prelegeri și mesaje memorabile.
Certificatele înmânate participanților la „Școala finanțelor moderne” sunt semnate de guvernatorii BNM și BNR, precum și de rectorii ASE București și ASEM.
Programul a fost lansat în anul 2023. Primele două ediții au avut loc pe teritoriul României, unde tinerii au avut posibilitatea să îmbine experiențe de studiu în capitala României cu activități cultural-istorice în orașe reprezentative precum Iași, Suceava, Brașov și Sinaia.
Participarea studenților din Republica Moldova la „Școala finanțelor moderne” a fost susținută parțial de Programul USAID „Reforme Instituționale și Structurale în Moldova” (MISRA), care sprijină eforturile BNM în accelerarea reformelor în sectorul financiar, sporirea nivelului de educație și incluziune financiară.
