National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

Banca Națională a Moldovei (BNM) dă startul mai multor activități de educație financiară în cadrul campaniei internaționale „Global Money Week”, care în acest an se va desfășura între 18 și 24 martie.
Evenimentul este adresat tuturor celor care vor să își dezvolte cultura financiară, în special copiilor și tinerilor, pentru a cunoaște mai bine conceptele financiar-bancare, dar și cum poate fi gestionat corect bugetul personal.
Astfel, Banca Națională, în parteneriat cu Centrul Analitic Independent „Expert-Grup” și Muzeul Național de Istorie a Moldovei, va organiza ateliere de lucru, expoziții de monede din diferite timpuri și lecții publice de educație financiară prin toată țara.
„Educația financiară înseamnă a oferi oamenilor abilitățile de care au nevoie pentru a-și spori bunăstarea și a contribui la dezvoltarea economiei țării. Această educație începe de la vârste mici. Copiii și tinerii trebuie să fie pregătiți pentru viitor. În acest sens, ne dorim, în calitate de bancă centrală, care este coordonator național al procesului de educație financiară, să transmitem tinerei generații informațiile care să le formeze o bază solidă, pentru ca, ulterior, aceasta să poată evalua situația economică și să ia decizii financiare corecte”, subliniază Anca Dragu, guvernator al Băncii Naționale a Moldovei.
Astfel, activitățile în cadrul ”Global Money Week” vor cuprinde vizite la sala de expoziții a BNM, cu posibilitatea de a audia un istoric succint al monedei naționale și de a admira colecția de monede comemorative și jubiliare de aur și argint. Accesul va fi posibil de luni până vineri (18-22 martie).
De asemenea, în perioada 18-24 martie, vor fi organizate ateliere de lucru interactive cu tematică financiară la Muzeul Național de Istorie a Moldovei. Aici, va mai putea fi admirată colecția de monede din cele mai vechi timpuri.
Participarea la eveniment va fi posibilă prin înregistrare prealabilă. Vor fi constituite grupuri de până la 35 de persoane cu vârste de peste 9 ani. Elevii vor fi însoțiți de un matur, care va fi responsabil pentru securitatea minorilor pe durata excursiei sau atelierului. Solicitările pot fi transmise până pe data de 13 martie 2024 la adresa electronică edufin@bnm.md . Vizitele vor fi organizate la fiecare oră fixă, în intervalul 13:00 – 16:00.
Săptămâna Internațională de Educație Financiară (Global Money Week) reprezintă o inițiativă internațională lansată acum 12 ani, la care au aderat 176 de țări. Aceasta promovează conștientizarea importanței educației financiare pentru cultivarea atitudinilor și deprinderilor financiare fundamentate, necesare în luarea deciziilor financiare de zi cu zi.
