National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

Guvernatoarea Băncii Naționale a Moldovei, Anca Dragu, a participat astăzi la lansarea Campaniei Naționale #Fără Cash, desfășurată de Asociația Băncilor din Moldova. Campania urmărește să promoveze plățile fără numerar în cele mai îndepărtate localități din țară, pentru a crea un viitor financiar modern și cât mai benefic pentru cetățeni.
„Împreună lucrăm la acest concept de acces mai ușor la plăți și la servicii bancare și, în general, la dezvoltarea țării și crearea unor perspective mai simple de facilitare a businessului și a tranzacțiilor pentru toți cetățenii Moldovei”, a subliniat Anca Dragu.
Guvernatoarea BNM a făcut referire la cele mai recente proiecte ale Băncii Naționale, care deja se bucură de succes. În context, a fost menționată înaintarea cererii de aderare a Republicii Moldovei la Zona Unică în Plăți în Euro (SEPA), care este în proces de examinare, dar și lansarea, în luna martie, a Sistemului de Plăți Instant MIA.
„Până ieri, avem înregistrate 124 118 de plăți și 115 milioane de lei transferați – câte 2900 de plăți și 2,65 mil de lei transferați pe zi. Sunt cifre care arată că MIA este un succes pentru sistemul nostru bancar. Aducem cetățenilor Republicii Moldova posibilitatea plăților sigure, rapide și cu costuri din ce în ce mai reduse. Avem comisioane de zero lei pentru plățile instant de până la cinci mii de lei. Plățile au devenit foarte accesibile” a spus Anca Dragu.
Potrivit guvernatoarei BNM, aceste cifre reflectă impactul profund pe care inovația digitală îl poate avea asupra eficienței economice, iar consolidarea eforturilor vor duce către realizarea unei economii digitale robuste și incluzive.
Campania Națională #Fără Cash se va desfășura pe parcursul anului curent și va fi promovată prin diverse canale de comunicare. Obiectivul este de a sublinia beneficiile plăților fără numerar și de a încuraja adoptarea lor în viața de zi cu zi a cetățenilor. Statisticile indică o creștere constantă a utilizării plăților fără numerar.
Anul trecut, numărul cardurilor în circulație a depășit numărul populației din Republica Moldova, constituind cifra de 3 292 564. Totodată, pe parcursul anilor 2019-2023 numărul și valoarea plaților fără numerar au crescut în fiecare an în medie cu 40,4% și respectiv 37,9%.
