The National Bank of Moldova organized a workshop for the MAI employees

The National Bank of Moldova organized a workshop for the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) on the topic “Safe payment card usage, application of all necessary measures to minimize fraud and deter fraud attempts with payment cards”.

The information presented during the event will be able to be disseminated by MAI employees, through the General Police Inspectorates in the country, to increase the level of understanding and awareness among the population of the general rules for using the payment card. These activities aim to meet the common goals of improving financial culture in society and preventing related fraud.

Thus, experts from the central bank talked about the rights and obligations of the payment card user and made a foray into the evolution of fraud in this regard. They also set out the central bank's recommendations for the safe usage of the card, which need to be known and applied by the public.

Likewise, in a similar context, the MAI representatives referred to the challenges and trends of fraud in that field and the importance of informing the population to overcome them.

Communicating at district level about the need and measures to prevent fraud related to payment cards could have a high utility impact. Informative materials on this subject issued by the National Bank will also be made available to the citizens.
