In quarter I 2020, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 188,80 million, the capital account registered a negative balance amounting to US$ 10,44 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 243,76 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ -5 075,09 million as of 31.03.2020, while the gross external debt totaled US$  7 580,77  million.

According to preliminary data, in 2019, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 1 159,30 million, the capital account registered a negative balance amounting to US$ 52,08 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 1 205,94 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ -5 084,65 million at the end of 2019, while the gross external debt totaled US$ 7 545,57 million.

2019

In quarter III 2019, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 377,48 million, the capital account registered a negative balance amounting to US$ 17,28 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 349,21 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ - 4 875,38 million at the end of quarter III 2019, while the gross external debt totaled US$ 7 316,99 million.

In 2018, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit amounting to US$ 1 211,37 million, the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 35,94 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 1 185,40 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ -4 198,10 million at the end of 2018, while the gross external debt reached US$ 7 464,65 million.

In Q II 2019, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 311,74 million, the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 11,92 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 383,65 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ -4 552,53 million at the end of Q II 2019, while the gross external debt totaled US$ 7 351,60 million.

In Q I 2019, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 242,01 million, the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 13,66 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 312,27 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ -4 348,96 million at the end of Q I 2019, while the gross external debt totaled US$ 7 234,15 million.

According to preliminary data, in 2018, the current account of the balance of payments of Moldova recorded a deficit amounting to US$ 1 186,71 million, the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 39,38 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 1 132,16 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ - 4 166,92 million at the end of 2018, while the gross external debt reached US$ 7 302,02 million.

2018

In QIII 2018, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 338,09 million, the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 12,05 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 281,43 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ -3 833,27 million at the end of Q III 2018, while the gross external debt reached US$ 7 199,10 million.

In 2017, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit amounting to US$ 562.07 million, the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 21.35 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 507.61 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ -3,249.85 million at the end of 2017, while the gross external debt reached US$ 6,964.29 million.

In Q II 2018, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 282.10 million, the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 10.84 million, and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 252.39 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ -3,670.21 million at the end of Q II 2018, while the gross external debt reached US$ 7,079.14 million.

According to preliminary data, in Q I 2018, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of 189.96 million (that worsened by 51.2 percent as compared to Q I 2017), the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 7.27 million and the financial account recorded a net inflow of US$ 119.33 million. The international investment position of the Republic of Moldova amounted to US$ - 4,152.13 million at the end of the first quarter of 2018, while the gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova reached US$ 7,204.68 million.

In  2017, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 616.94 million. The capital account registered a deficit of US$ 30.41 million and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 569.77 million. The international investment position amounted to US$ -3,954.33 million in 2017, while the gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova reached US$ 6,973.70 million

2017

In January-September 2017, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 532.56 million (of which US$ -207.62 in Q III 2017), which worsened by 87.7 percent as compared to January- September 2016. The capital account registered a deficit of US$ 17.88 million (of which US$ -5.46 million in Q III 2017) and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 301.96 million (of which US$ 129.44 million in Q III 2017). The international investment position of the Republic of Moldova represented US$ -4,201.41 million at the end of Q III 2017, while the gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova reached US$ 6,742.97 million.

According to final data, in 2016, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 285.58 million (down by 38.9 percent as compared to 2015), the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 20.79 million and the financial account recorded a net inflow of US$ 214.56 million. The international investment position of the Republic of Moldova remained net debit totaling US$ -3,550.57 million at the end of 2016, while the gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova reached US$ 6,235.23 million.

In January-June 2017, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 307.22 million (of which US$ 187.17 in quarter II 2017), which worsened by 77.8 percent as compared to January-June 2016. The capital account registered a deficit of US$ 13.16 million (of which US$ 6.47 million in quarter II 2017) and the financial account recorded a net capital inflow of US$ 162.76 million (of which US$ 111.48 million in quarter II 2017). The international investment position of the Republic of Moldova remained net debit, totaling US$ -3,958.60 million at the end of the quarter II 2017, while the gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova reached US$ 6,549.23 million.

According to preliminary data, in Q I 2017, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of 112.77 million (that worsened by 41.5 percent as compared to Q I 2016), the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 11.99 million and the financial account recorded a net inflow of US$ 59.65 million. The international investment position of the Republic of Moldova remained net debit totaling US$ -6,133.37 million at the end of the first quarter of 2017, while the gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova reached US$ 6,688.60 million.

According to preliminary data, in 2016, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 276.58 million (down by 33.3 percent as compared to 2015), the capital account registered a deficit of US$ 46.71 million and the financial account recorded a net inflow of US$ 289.99 million. 

2016

In Q III 2016, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 97.16 million (down by 17.0% as compared to Q III 2015), the capital account registered a negative balance of US$ 17.42 million and the financial account recorded a net inflow of US$ 68.93 million. The international investment position remained net debit totaling US$ -5,956.69 million, while the gross external debt reached US$ 6,510.49 million..

In 2015, the current account of the balance of payments of the Republic of Moldova recorded a deficit of US$ 414.84 million (down by 27.1% as compared to 2014), the capital account registered a surplus of US$ 22.88 million and the financial account recorded a net inflow of US$ 443.72 million.The international investment position of the Republic of Moldova remained net debit totaling US$ -5,654.17 million as of 31.12.2015, while the gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova reached US$ 6,345.43 million.

In Q II 2016, the current account of the balance of payments recorded a deficit of US$ 92.21 million (down by 27.4 percent as compared to April-June 2015), the capital account registered a negative balance of US$ 11.76 million and the financial account recorded a net inflow of US$ 49.56 million. The international investment position remained net debit totaling US$ -5,805.60 million, while the gross external reached US$ 6,389.72 million.
