A financial education class with NBM Governor, Anca Dragu, at a high school in the capital

The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu, participated today in an interactive financial education session at the IP "Ion Creanga" Theoretical High School in Chisinau.

More than 120 students attending the event had the opportunity to learn directly from the head of the central bank about the role and attributions of this institution, to better understand the phenomenon of inflation, the importance of price stability and the ways in which the NBM regulates and supervises the banking sector. The discussions also covered topics such as interest rates and the impact of financial decisions on everyday life.

The open dialogue allowed students to ask questions and share opinions. Anca Dragu was impressed by the young people's interest, encouraging them to continue exploring and better understanding the field of finance.

"This interaction is an important step towards the NBM's commitment to promote financial education in society and encourage active participation of young people in the country's economy. We want to help young people create a secure financial future. It is essential that they understand basic economic principles in order to successfully navigate the financial world. A deep understanding of these concepts will transform them into informed citizens ready to make responsible financial decisions and contribute to Moldova's sustainable economic development," says Anca Dragu.

The public lecture took place in the framework of the National Campaign “Financial Education for All”, carried out by the NBM in partnership with the Expert-Grup Independent Think-Tank, with the support of the USAID project “Moldova Institutional and Structural Reforms Activity” (MISRA).
