Anca Dragu met with representatives of the Competition Council from Bucharest

The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu, had a meeting with a delegation of the Competition Council (CC) from Bucharest, led by the institution’s President, Bogdan Chirițoiu. The discussions covered several areas such as the harmonization of sectoral regulations, the inclusion of the NBM experts in a Twinning project that will benefit the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, as well as potential future collaborations between the National Bank and the Romanian Competition Council.

During the discussions, Governor Anca Dragu emphasized the benefits of competition between companies - it stimulates entrepreneurial spirit, while increasing quality and efficiency, provides consumers with greater diversity, leads to fair and competitive pricing. Another topic discussed at the meeting was the need for blended finance as a fundamental element for sustainable development.

"Blended finance is an innovative and essential tool in the modern economy. By combining the resources and expertise of those involved, complex investment projects can be carried out in areas with significant social and economic impact, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development objectives. In this way, responsibility and innovation are promoted, paving the way for a more prosperous and equitable future", said the Governor of the NBM.

The delegation from Bucharest also included Cosmin Belacurencu, a member of the Plenary of the Competition Council of Romania and project leader for the Twinning project carried out at the counterpart institution in the Republic of Moldova; Adrian Comănescu, a member of the CC Plenary; Cristina Butacu, Twinning resident advisor; and Catalina Deică, responsible for relations with the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova.
