The consultations may involve legal entities and individuals who have reached the age of 16. Participants may present one concept for each type of coin. 

As from 30 December 2016, the National Bank of Moldova issued into circulation six commemorative coins as legal tender and for numismatic purposes.

The commemorative coins are issued by the NBM, have numismatic value and can be used as means of payment. NBM floats these currencies through licensed banks.

As from 2 November 2015, the National Bank of Moldova issued into circulation eight commemorative coins as legal tender and for numismatic purposes.

The current banknote series was introduced by the National Bank of Moldova

The size and design elements of the newly upgraded banknote with the denomination of MDL 1, specimen of 2015, are identical with those of the banknote with the denomination of MDL 1, specimen of 2010.

The size and design elements of the newly upgraded banknote with the denomination of MDL 10, specimen of 2015, are identical with those of the banknote with the denomination of MDL 10, specimen of 2013.

The size and design elements of the newly upgraded banknote with the denomination of MDL 20, specimen of 2015, are identical with those of the banknote with the denomination of MDL 20, specimen of 2010.

The design elements of the newly upgraded banknote with the denomination of MDL 100, specimen of 2015, are identical with those of the banknote with the denomination of MDL 100, specimen of 2013, but the size is changed.

The size and design elements of the newly upgraded banknote with the denomination of MDL 50, specimen of 2015, are identical with those of the banknote with the denomination of MDL 50, specimen of 2013.

The size and design elements of the newly upgraded banknote with the denomination of MDL 200, specimen of 2015, are identical with those of the banknote with the denomination of MDL 200, specimen of 2013.

The size and design elements of the newly upgraded banknote with the denomination of MDL 500, specimen of 2015, are identical with those of the banknote with the denomination of MDL 500, specimen of 1999.

The current coins was introduced by the National Bank of Moldova

National Bank of Moldova issued new six commemorative coins on 20 October 2014, minted in silver, as legal tender and for numismatic purpose.

The National Bank of Moldova has the exclusive right to release banknotes and metal coins as the form of currency on the territory of Republic of Moldova.

The National Bank of Moldova issued new three commemorative coins on 21 July 2014, minted in silver, as legal tender and for numismatic purpose.
