Anca Dragu, at the Annual Meeting of the Governing Board of the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF): Cooperation with the CEF concretely supports the transformation of the NBM and the European integration of the Republic of Moldova

On 23 June 2025, the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Ms. Anca Dragu, participated in the Annual Meeting of the Governing Board of the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF), held in Montenegro. The event brought together leaders from Central and South-Eastern Europe, who had the opportunity to discuss strengthening the capacities of institutions to effectively plan, implement, and support reforms, which are key elements for improving governance, economic resilience, and social equity, while also contributing to accelerating the progress of candidate countries on the path to European integration.  Participants also discussed fundraising strategies aimed at ensuring the continuity and expansion of regional learning programmes.

In her speech, Ms. Anca Dragu highlighted the active role of the National Bank of Moldova within the CEF community, as well as the tangible benefits of the project “National Bank of Moldova – Institutional Transformation into a Learning-Oriented Organisation (NBM LearnOrgLab)”, carried out with the support of the CEF. The project aims to develop institutional and individual capacities by promoting a modern organisational culture based on continuous learning and openness to knowledge sharing.

"We are part of one of the most important regional knowledge hubs in the financial field, and this collaboration has a real impact on the development of institutional and human capacities, which are very important for banking sector reforms and Moldova's European integration. We hope this cooperation will continue, so that we can further transfer the knowledge we have acquired to other public institutions in Moldova and in the region," said the Governor of the central bank.

The meeting was organised in the context of the CEF's ongoing commitment to respond to the learning needs of public institutions in the region and to ensure the sustainability of its initiatives through close collaboration with the members of the Governing Board. The event aimed to strengthen cooperation between member states, define clear directions for communicating the CEF's impact, and establish shared responsibilities for mobilising resources for the organization's future.
