Anca Dragu participated in the round table "Capital without borders: Moldovan enterprises on the Bucharest Stock Exchange"

The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu, participated today in the round table on "Capital without borders: Moldovan enterprises on the Bucharest Stock Exchange." The event, organized by the Investment Agency, brought together leaders and experts from the financial sector, representatives of government institutions and business environment.

The event focused on the development prospects of the capital market in both the Republic of Moldova and Romania. Discussions centered on the process of listing Moldovan companies on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, with industry leaders engaging in a dynamic dialogue.

As a speaker, Anca Dragu mentioned that the NBM's vision is focused on the implementation of best practices from the European Union, aiming at integrating the local market into the international financial flow: "The capital market in the Republic of Moldova is in its early stages of development. This context, although challenging, creates favorable conditions for growth and performance. To capitalize on this potential, it is crucial to effectively implement reforms in this area".

Anca Dragu said that there is interest shown by companies and investors for new instruments and sources of investment, calling it a positive signal: "The municipal bond issues in recent years, the launch of bonds by a local bank, as well as the placement of instruments on foreign markets confirm the openness of Moldovan companies to new opportunities: there is fertile ground for the development of the capital market."

At the end, the Governor noted that the NBM's objectives refer to: establishing connections between the Single Central Securities Depository and foreign depositories, as well as achieving a homogeneous regulatory regime in the field of settlements. This initiative will allow Moldovan companies direct access to foreign capital markets.
