Mr. Constantin Șchendra, Deputy Governor of the NBM

 


Mr. Constantin Șchendra was appointed Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, member of the Executive Committee, by the Decision of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova no. 161 of 4 November 2021.

Mr. Constantin Șchendra was born in 1983 in Chisinau. He graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, specializing in International Economic Relations (2005). Mr. Constantin Șchendra holds the professional qualification of expert of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounting (ACCA) based in London (United Kingdom) – one of the highest titles in the field of accounting and financial reporting according to international standards. At the same time, Mr. Șchendra holds the Auditor Certificate issued by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova.

At the time of his appointment, Mr. Constantin Șchendra has over 18 years of experience in the economic and banking sector, including over 8 years in international audit companies. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor of the NBM, he held the position of Director of the Banking Supervision Department, the National Bank of Moldova.

Mr. Constantin Șchendra started his professional activity in 2002 as an accountant at the Center for Economic and Social Development, Republic of Moldova.

In 2005, he held the position of Grant Financial Manager, Citizen Network for Foreign Affairs, Republic of Moldova.

In the period 2005-2010, he held the position of regional director of the USAID Program - Community Connections, Center for Economic and Social Development, Republic of Moldova.

In 2010-2015, he worked as a senior auditor at Ernst & Young, Republic of Moldova, and in 2013-2014 as a senior auditor at Ernst & Young, Cyprus.

In the period of 2015-2018, he worked as an executive director within Baker Tilly Moldova.

In the period of 2018-2021, he held the position of Director of the Banking Supervision Department, the National Bank of Moldova.
