The National Bank of Moldova lifted the intensive supervision regime for the BC „MOLDOVA-AGROINDBANK” S.A.

On 4 April 20019, the Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) revoked the measures prescribed for the special supervision period of the BC "MOLDOVA-AGROINDBANK” S.A.

The decision was adopted after it was found that the bank is able to ensure the transparency of its shareholders, following the acquisition of 41.09 percent of the bank’s share capital by the HEIM PARTNERS LIMITED, a company representing an international consortium of investors: EBRD, Invalda INVL, Horizon Capital. At the same time, the new Council of the BC „MOLDOVA-AGROINDBANK” S.A., established on 22 November 2018 by the decision of the annual general meetings of the bank’s shareholders, started to exercise its mandate since 21 March 2019.

In the period 2016-2019, the increase in assets, capital and profit of the bank was ensured. Concomitantly, the rate of non-performing loans decreased and the bank carried out the actions included in the remediation plans that were previously prescribed by the NBM.

The BC „MOLDOVA-AGROINDBANK” S.A. was placed under special supervision regime on 11 June 2015, following the irregularities identified by the NBM. Subsequently, the special supervision regime was replaced with intensive supervision regime (4 October 2016) following the legislative amendments.
