NBM establishes collaboration partnerships with the AESM and TUM

On 9 February 2018, the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) signed partnership agreements with the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM) and the Technical University of Moldova (TUM).

The parties intend to cooperate in organizing studies and mutual exchange of knowledge in order to prepare and qualify specialists in the banking field. The bilateral cooperation is foreseen for three years with the possibility of extension for a similar period with the tacit agreement of the parties.

In the framework of the agreement with the AESM, the National Bank will organize traineeships for students and professors in order to familiarize them with practical aspects of banking and central banking activities, such as the implementation of Basel III requirements, the development of new banking services and products, inflation forecast, etc. At the same time, the central bank’s experts will organize internships for didactical staff and doctoral students, and will participate in their scientific researches and projects.

Within the area of collaboration with the TUM, the NBM will support the creation of a central bank database to inform the academic staff and students about the NBM’s activity, including by placing information on the portal: www.cariera.utm.md. At the same time, the National Bank will benefit from the support and advice of the TUM in solving eventual technological and economic issues. The collaboration will include traineeships and the conduct of research and design projects with the involvement of the TUM students and didactical staff.

The ASEM and TUM representatives will be invited to public conferences and events organized by the NBM, where they will have the opportunity to participate in discussions and present their own analyses and research results.
