NBM Governor, Anca Dragu, meets with the leadership of the Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF)

The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), Ms Anca Dragu, met today with the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF), Ms Jana Repanšek, accompanied by Ms Ajda Turk, Head of the Leadership and Learning Ecosystems team at the CEF. The discussions focused on the NBM LearnOrgLab project and the assessment of its results, as well as on strategic topics related to future cooperation and the CEF’s financial sustainability.

The Governor highlighted the importance of strengthening public institutions, fostering a culture in which learning and the exchange of experience are encouraged, enhancing leadership skills, and using knowledge management to retain talented people within organisations.

“ We are part of one of the most important regional knowledge hubs in the field of finance, and this cooperation has a real impact on the development of institutional and human capacities, which are crucial for reforms in the banking sector and for Moldova’s European integration. We would like this cooperation to continue so that we can further share the knowledge acquired with other public institutions in Moldova and across the region,” the Governor said on that occasion.

Another important item on the meeting’s agenda was an analysis of the decisions adopted at the annual meeting of the CEF Governing Board in Skopje. This was discussed in the context of changes in the international cooperation environment and the need to ensure the CEF’s financial sustainability, including a proposal to intensify promotional activities and introduce a mechanism for voluntary contributions from member states.

The CEF is an international organisation whose mission is to support the development of professional capacities by providing training for public officials in the financial sector across South-Eastern Europe: https://www.cef-see.org/.
