NBM Governor: Moldova-France economic cooperation strengthened by Moldova's European path

Today, 6 February 2026, the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Ms. Anca Dragu, held a meeting with representatives of the France-Moldova Chamber of Commerce and Industry: President Emmanuel Skoulios and Vice-President Dumitru Cozmolici.

The discussions took place in the context of the Republic of Moldova’s European integration process and focused on the prospects for economic and investment cooperation.

“We are pleased that Moldova is becoming increasingly attractive to investors, and the NBM contributes to this process by maintaining macro-financial stability, strengthening the regulatory framework, and modernising the financial infrastructure. A relevant indicator of economic consolidation in 2025 is the 22% increase in investments, which have become the main driver of economic acceleration,” emphasised Ms. Anca Dragu.

This dynamic reflects the strengthening of the macroeconomic framework and the impact of ongoing structural reforms, which increase the attractiveness of the Republic of Moldova as an investment destination for French capital. Furthermore, the meeting reaffirmed the NBM’s openness to continuous dialogue with the international business environment, aiming to support a predictable and robust investment climate, fully aligned with the Republic of Moldova’s status as a candidate country for European Union integration.

France is a consistent supporter of the Republic of Moldova's European path and its integration into the European Union, including through its support for reforms in the financial sector.

The France-Moldova Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI France Moldavie) is a non-governmental employers' association dedicated to promoting economic and trade exchanges between France and the Republic of Moldova.
