NBM invites you to the activities entitled "Give sense to money" during the Global Money Week event

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) launches several activities for the Global Money Week, between 22-26 March 2021. These are intended for pupils, students, general public, business environment etc.

"Citizens' interest in financial education is constantly growing and responds to the needs of increasingly active involvement of the population of different ages and occupations in activities that contribute to financial inclusion. This event, promoted at national level by the National Bank for several years, was attended by authorities, institutions and associations with various activity profiles. The new reality we live with the entire global community reorients us towards an online event, but the interaction between the participants will be active and offers everyone the opportunity to participate", mentions the NBM Governor, Octavian Armașu.

Thus, a series of activities will be carried out next week, such as the public information and awareness campaign through multimedia products - videographics, videoguides and podcasts. These include topics such as the safe use of the payment card, how to start an online business, what to look for when taking a loan, from savings to investments, why monetary policy decisions are made etc.

At the same time, a financial education platform will be launched - Moldova Banking Hub – intended for pupils, students and teachers who will have the opportunity to discuss with central bank experts on various topics in the financial and banking field.

Activities will be also organized in partnership with the Economic Press Club - training courses for students of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences and with the Independent Analytical Center “Expert-Grup” - training workshops for the general public, which will end with an interactive quiz and the winners will receive certificates of participation.

NBM will also organize virtual visits to the institution's museum, as well as a virtual coin exhibition of the National Museum of History of Moldova.

At the same time, in order to promote financial education in the most remote corners of the country, the NBM and Expert-Grup have trained several pupils and students, who will conduct online lessons for their peers, in their hometowns, on the topic "Give sense to money". Candidates for the title of ambassador of financial education were selected in a public competition organized last year.

Those wishing to participate in the International Financial Education Week can register by filling in the form:   https://forms.gle/vsx6jh2Gft1U3jzk7
or they can send the request by e-mail educatia.financiara@bnm.md

The NBM joins the Global Money Week event every year, in which the public from almost 175 countries expresses their desire to learn to orient themselves in today's financial world, which is rapidly developing and plays an increasingly important role in the daily life.
