#30RepublicaMoldova// NBM puts into circulation a set of three coins dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Moldova

Starting with 26 August 2021, the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) puts into circulation, as a means of payment and for numismatic purposes, a set of commemorative coins dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova. These will complete the series "Historical events".

The coins are presented in a set of three coins and have the significance of a 30 years historical journey: past, present and future. Each coin reflects famous titles of verses that have become ballads: "O libertate, sfântă libertate" [“Freedom, holy freedom”] (lyrics - Ion Hadârcă; composer - Anatol Dumitraș; performer - Angela Bucico), "Inima mea e Moldova" [“My heart is Moldova”] (lyrics - Simion Ghimpu; composer - Ion Aldea-Teodorovici; performer - Ion Suruceanu) and "Cât trăim pe-acest pământ" [“As long as we live on this earth”] (lyrics - Nicolae Dabija; composer - Tudor Chiriac; performer - Alex Calancea Band).

The first coin takes us back to 1991, to the generation that fought for the country's freedom.

The second piece is dedicated to young people and shows a longer path - democratic processes and social-economic development of the Republic of Moldova.

The last coin is dedicated to children - to those who came with the message of hope "Everything will be alright" taken from the international campaign of the same name to which the children of the Republic of Moldova joined in the context of the global health crisis.

"By definition, any commemorative coin depicts an object of monetary art intended to convey to the public messages representative of a state. Thus, these three anniversary coins commemorate the historical memory of our country, as well as our attachment to cultural and civic values", says NBM Governor Octavian Armașu in his message on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova.

The coins are made of silver, each with a face value of MDL 50 and a mintage of 500. The graphic design was created by the artist Simion Zamșa.

The commemorative coins, packaged in clear methacrylate capsules and in a presentation box, are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity containing three QR codesuri:

in which the information about the coins is stored. The Certificate of Authenticity is signed by the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova.

The coins issued by the National Bank are sold through the licensed banks of the Republic of Moldova.
