Economist students from the Republic of Moldova will be trained in a specialized program supported by the NBR and Bucharest UES, at the proposal of the NBM and AESM

The National Bank of Romania (NBR) and the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (UES) support the specialized training of economist students from the Republic of Moldova. An initiative in this regard was launched in Bucharest on 25 April 2023, on the occasion of the Conference “Navigating through overlapping crises”.

Discussions took place between the members of the NBR Board of Directors, led by Governor Mugur Isărescu together with the Governor of the NBM, Octavian Armașu, as well as the Rectors of Bucharest University of Economic Studies (UES) and the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM), Nicolae Istudor and Alexandru Stratan, respectively.

The parties agreed to launch a framework program to train future specialists for the financial-banking system of the Republic of Moldova.

The Conference “Navigating through overlapping crises” addressed, among other things, the topic of strengthening Moldovan-Romanian relations. During the conference, the decision-making bodies of the National Bank of Romania reiterated their readiness to provide institutional expertise in the process of preparing Moldova’s accession to the European Union.
