Strating from 1 March 2024, the National Bank of Moldova puts the coin “Martisor – symbol of spring” into circulation for numismatic purposes, thereby completing the series “Holidays, Culture, Traditions of Moldova”.

The National Bank of Moldova will put into circulation a commemorative coin “European Moldova” as a means of payment and for numismatic purposes from 2 January 2024, which will complete the series “Historical events”.

The National Bank of Moldova is launching a design competition for the Moldovan leu symbol in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency.

Over 250 people came to the excursions organised by the National Bank of Moldova to the National Museum of History, in partnership with this institution, between 25-30 November 2023.

In the opening message, Octavian Armașu mentioned that monetary independence and the national currency are essential elements of our identity.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from the Republic of Moldova and abroad, ambassadors, representatives of international financial institutions, individuals from financial, banking and academic circles, as well as members of civil society, scientists, creative individuals, and various other personalities.

Starting with 29 November 2023, the National Bank of Moldova puts into circulation five commemorative coins as a means of payment and for numismatic purposes.

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) is celebrating the National Currency Day on 29 November 2023. This event commemorates the 30th anniversary since the introduction of the Moldovan leu as a means of payment in the Republic of Moldova. 

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) invites the general public to engage in the “Discover the Monuments on Moldovan Leu Banknotes” contest, which will start on 27 August 2023.

The National Bank of Moldova has responded to requests from citizens to extend the deadline for the design contest for jubilee and commemorative coins, 2023.

The competition is open to individuals who have reached the age of 18, as well as legal entities, who can display their graphic vision on future coins.

Starting with 23 December 2022, the National Bank of Moldova puts into circulation six commemorative coins as means of payment and for numismatic purposes.

 

 

Starting with May 20, 2022, the National Bank of Moldova puts into circulation, as a means of payment and for numismatic purposes, a commemorative coin dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of Mihai Dolgan.

Starting with November 29, 2021, the National Bank of Moldova puts into circulation four jubilee and commemorative coins as a means of payment and for numismatic purposes.

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) organizes on Monday, 29 November 2021, more events dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the introduction of the Moldovan leu.

Starting with September 10, 2021, the National Bank of Moldova puts into circulation as a means of payment and for numismatic purposes a commemorative coin dedicated to the 100 years since the inauguration of the National Theatre  in  Chisinau (currently "Mihai Eminescu" National Theatre).
