National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

În ianuarie 2024, volumul încasărilor cumulative de numerar în casele băncilor a depășit cu 726,1 mil. lei volumul eliberărilor cumulative de numerar pe sistemul bancar1.
În ianuarie 2024, volumul încasărilor cumulative de numerar s-a diminuat cu 361,1 mil. lei (-2,6 la sută) față de ianuarie 2023 și a constituit 13 395,0 mil. lei.
În luna de referința a fost înregistrată o diminuare semnificativă a încasărilor din conturile persoanelor fizice cu 551,2 mil. lei (-29,6 la sută), constituind 1 311,9 mil. lei. De asemenea, s-au redus încasările din plățile pentru chirie și serviciile comunale cu 225,4 mil. lei (-61,5 la sută), precum și cele din vânzarea valutei persoanelor fizice cu 85,7 mil. lei (-16,2 la sută), constituind 444,6 mil. lei, ceea ce reprezintă echivalentul a 25,1 mil. USD2 (Diagrama nr. 1).
Totodată, s-au majorat substanțial încasările din comercializarea mărfurilor de consum cu 383,4 mil. lei (+5,3 la sută). În același timp, s-au majorat încasările de la întreprinderile care prestează alte servicii cu 170,4 mil. lei (+19,1 la sută), precum și alte încasări cu 120,9 mil. lei (+6,2 la sută).

Volumul eliberărilor de numerar din casele băncilor în ianuarie 2024 s-a majorat cu 27,2 mil. lei (+0,2 la sută) comparativ cu ianuarie 2023 și a constituit 12 668,8 mil. lei (Diagrama nr. 2).

Un impact major asupra evoluției eliberărilor de numerar din casele băncilor a avut, pe de o parte, diminuarea eliberărilor de numerar pentru cumpărarea valutei de la persoane fizice cu 728,8 mil. lei (-20,4 la sută), iar pe de altă parte, majorarea eliberărilor din bancomate cu 383,6 mil. lei (+7,9 la sută) și a eliberărilor pentru remunerarea muncii și plăți sociale cu 351,2 mil. lei (+36,9 la sută).
