National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

În ianuarie – martie 2024, volumul încasărilor cumulative de numerar în casele băncilor a depășit cu 65,4 mil. lei volumul eliberărilor cumulative de numerar pe sistemul bancar1.
În perioada de referință, volumul încasărilor cumulative de numerar s-a diminuat cu 247,0 mil. lei (-0,6 la sută) față de perioada similară a anului precedent și a constituit 39 308,1 mil. lei.
Diminuări semnificative ale încasărilor de numerar au fost înregistrate la încasările pe conturile curente și conturile de depozit ale persoanelor fizice cu 672,8 mil. lei (-14,5 la sută), la încasările din chirii și servicii comunale cu 658,3 mil. lei (-60,0 la sută), precum și la încasările din vânzarea valutei persoanelor fizice cu 421,8 mil. lei (-24,0 la sută), însumând 1 337,1 mil. lei (echivalentul a 75,4 mil. USD2).
Totodată, au fost înregistrate majorări considerabile la încasările de numerar din comercializarea mărfurilor de consum (indiferent de canalul de desfacere) cu 1 030,9 mil. lei (+4,9 la sută), constituind 21 891,8 mil. lei, ceea ce reprezintă 55,7 la sută din volumul total al încasărilor (Diagrama nr. 1). De asemenea, au fost consemnate majorări substanțiale ale altor încasări în numerar de mijloace bănești cu 500,9 mil. lei (+8,8 la sută), precum și ale încasărilor de la întreprinderile care prestează alte servicii cu 341,9 mil. lei (+12,6 la sută).

Volumul eliberărilor cumulative de numerar din casele băncilor în ianuarie – martie 2024 s-a majorat cu 1 079,1 mil. lei (+2,8 la sută) comparativ cu perioada similară a anului precedent și a constituit 39 242,8 mil. lei (Diagrama nr. 2).

Un impact major asupra evoluției eliberărilor de numerar din casele băncilor l-au avut, pe de o parte, majorarea eliberărilor din bancomate cu 1 433,1 mil. lei (+9,1 la sută), a eliberărilor pentru remunerarea muncii și plăților sociale cu 573,6 mil. lei (+18,5) la sută, a eliberărilor sub formă de credite persoanelor fizice cu 291,4 mil. lei (+59,2), iar pe de altă parte, diminuarea eliberărilor pentru cumpărarea valutei de la persoane fizice cu 1 479,3 mil. lei (-16,2 la sută).
