National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

În ianuarie – februarie 2024, volumul încasărilor cumulative de numerar în casele băncilor a depășit cu 398,5 mil. lei volumul eliberărilor cumulative de numerar pe sistemul bancar1.
În perioada de referința, volumul încasărilor cumulative de numerar s-a majorat cu 417,0 mil. lei (+1,6 la sută) față de perioada similară a anului precedent și a constituit 26 295,1 mil. lei.
La încasările cumulative de numerar a fost înregistrată o majorare semnificativă a încasărilor din comercializarea mărfurilor de consum (indiferent de canalul de desfacere) cu 1 107,2 mil. lei (+8,2 la sută), constituind 14 563,4 mil. lei, ceea ce reprezintă 55,4 la sută din volumul total al încasărilor (Diagrama nr. 1). De asemenea, au fost înregistrate majorări substanțiale ale altor încasări de mijloace bănești cu 412,3 mil. lei (+11,1 la sută) precum și ale încasărilor de la întreprinderile care prestează alte servicii cu 350,6 mil. lei (+20,2 la sută).
Totodată, în ianuarie – februarie 2024, au fost înregistrate diminuări considerabile ale încasărilor în numerar pe conturile curente și conturile de depozit ale persoanelor fizice cu 582,5 mil. lei (-17,6 la sută), ale încasărilor din chirii și servicii comunale cu 397,5 mil. lei (-56,6 la sută), precum și ale încasărilor din vânzarea valutei persoanelor fizice cu 242,2 mil. lei (-21,3 la sută), înregistrând 893,8 mil. lei (echivalentul a 50,3 mil. USD2).

Volumul eliberărilor de numerar din casele băncilor în ianuarie – februarie 2024, s-a majorat cu 1 311,0 mil. lei (+5,3 la sută) comparativ cu perioada similară a anului precedent și a constituit 25 896,6 mil. lei (Diagrama nr. 2).

Un impact major asupra evoluției eliberărilor de bani în numerar din casele băncilor l-au avut, pe de o parte, majorarea eliberărilor din bancomate cu 1 033,6 mil. lei (+10,3 la sută), a eliberărilor pentru remunerarea muncii și plăților sociale cu 466,1 mil. lei (+23,5) la sută, a eliberărilor din conturile persoanelor fizice cu 261,5 mil. lei (+8,8 la sută), iar pe de altă parte, diminuarea eliberărilor pentru cumpărarea valutei de la persoane fizice cu 650,0 mil. lei (-10,9 la sută).
