National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.
National Bank shall have the exclusive right to issue on the territory of the Republic of Moldova banknotes and coins as legal tender, as well as commemorative and jubilee banknotes and coins as legal tender and for numismatic purposes.

1. Se menține rata de bază aplicată la principalele operațiuni de politică monetară pe termen scurt la nivelul actual de 6,5% anual.
2. Se mențin ratele de dobândă:
- la creditele overnight la nivelul actual de 9,5% anual;
- la depozitele overnight la nivelul actual de 3,5% anual.
3. Se menține norma rezervelor obligatorii din mijloace atrase în lei moldovenești și în valută neconvertibilă la nivelul actual de 42,5% din baza de calcul.
4. Se menține norma rezervelor obligatorii din mijloace atrase în valută liber convertibilă la nivelul actual de 14,0% din baza de calcul.
Decizia respectivă a fost fundamentată în baza analizei recente a situației macroeconomice și asumărilor aferente noii runde de prognoză a inflației pe termen mediu, fiind luate în calcul și anticipările cu privire la evoluția mediului extern și ajustările politicii fiscale.
De menționat că cererea agregată va genera presiuni inflaționiste pentru primele trei trimestre din anul 2019, atunci când deviația PIB va înregistra valori pozitive și, respectiv, dezinflaționistă pentru restul orizontului de prognoză.
Noua rundă de prognoză plasează inflația medie anuală pentru anul curent și anul viitor la nivelul de 4,9% și, respectiv, 5,0%, fiind diminuată cu 0,5 p.p. pentru anul 2019 și majorată cu 0,1 p.p. pentru anul 2020 comparativ cu runda precedentă de prognoză.
Riscurile și incertitudinile asociate perspectivei inflației au ca surse evoluția prețurilor internaționale la petrol și temperarea activității economiei mondiale. Cele de natură internă se referă la recolta din anul 2019, momentul și magnitudinea ajustării tarifelor la serviciile reglementate, precum și eventuala diminuare a prețurilor la medicamente.
Riscurile și incertitudinile asociate noii runde de prognoză, analiza evoluției inflației și factorilor de influență asupra acesteia, analiza activității economice, precum și aspectele de promovare a politicii monetare vor fi detaliate în Raportul asupra inflației nr.1, care va fi publicat la 13 februarie 2019.
Următoarea ședință a Comitetului executiv al BNM cu privire la politica monetară va avea loc pe data de 14 martie 2019, conform calendarului publicat.
