National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.
National Bank shall have the exclusive right to issue on the territory of the Republic of Moldova banknotes and coins as legal tender, as well as commemorative and jubilee banknotes and coins as legal tender and for numismatic purposes.

Comitetul executiv al Băncii Naționale a Moldovei (BNM) a decis, cu vot unanim, să mențină rata de bază aplicată la principalele operațiuni de politică monetară pe termen scurt la nivelul actual de 7,5 la sută anual. Vor rămâne fără modificări și valorile altor instrumente de politică monetară: 10,5 la sută anual pentru ratele de dobândă la creditele overnight și 4,5 la sută anual la depozitele overnight.
Totodată, s-a decis că normele rezervelor obligatorii se vor menține la nivelul actual - de 42,5 la sută și, respectiv, 17,0 la sută din baza de calcul.
Hotărârea a fost luată în urma evaluării celor mai recente date macroeconomice interne și externe.
Astfel, prognoza cu privire la inflație rămâne valabilă, iar presiunile inflaționiste vor continua până la sfârșitul anului în curs. Acestea vor fi determinate, în principal, de cererea agregată, majorarea costului unitar al forței de muncă și efectul sezonier. Situația se va inversa în primul trimestru al anului 2020, când inflația va începe să se diminueze.
În luna septembrie, rata anuală a inflației a constituit 6,3 la sută. Astfel, aceasta a evoluat conform prognozei.
Potrivit datelor disponibile, s-a înregistrat o creștere economică pronunțată în prima jumătate a anului, care se va menține până la finele anului în curs, dar mai modest. În trimestrul II 2019, investițiile populației au crescut față de consum, inclusiv datorită creșterii veniturilor.
Totodată, volumul creditelor noi acordate în moneda națională pe parcursul trimestrului precedent a constituit 5,8 miliarde lei, înregistrând o creștere anuală de 26,1 la sută. De menționat că persoanelor fizice și celor juridice le-au revenit ponderi similare, acestea fiind de 50 la sută din volumul total de credite acordate.
În ședința de astăzi a Comitetului executiv a fost aprobat și Raportul asupra inflației nr. 4, 2019, care urmează să fie publicat săptămâna viitoare.
BNM va monitoriza și va anticipa în continuare evoluțiile macroeconomice interne și externe, riscurile și incertitudinile asociate evoluției inflației, pentru a asigura menținerea stabilității prețurilor pe termen mediu.
Următoarea ședință cu privire la politica monetară va avea loc pe data de 11 decembrie 2019.
