National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

Comitetul executiv al Băncii Naționale a Moldovei (BNM) a votat unanim diminuarea ratei de bază aplicată la principalele operațiuni de politică monetară pe termen scurt cu 0,1 puncte procentuale, până la 2,65 la sută anual. La fel, au fost micșorate ratele de dobândă la creditele și depozitele overnight până la 5,15 la sută și, respectiv, la 0,15 la sută anual.
Decizia este orientată spre susținerea cererii agregate interne, a procesului de creditare și a economiei în ansamblu și a fost luată în urma aprobării, în cadrul ședinței de astăzi, a Raportului asupra inflației nr.4, 2020. Raportul cuprinde cele mai recente analize ale situației din mediul intern și extern asociate procesului inflaționist, activității economice, promovării politicii monetare. Totodată, documentul, care va fi publicat pe 13 noiembrie a.c., include noua prognoză, alături de riscurile și incertitudinile asociate acesteia.
Conform noii runde de prognoză, rata anuală a inflației se va diminua ușor până la sfârșitul anului curent, iar începând cu trimestrul II 2021 va consemna o traiectorie ascendentă, ajungând spre finele orizontului de prognoză la nivelul inflației-țintă.
Presiunile dezinflaționiste se vor menține pe parcursul întregului orizont de prognoză - trimestrul IV 2020 – trimestrul III 2022. Între factorii de scădere a cererii agregate sunt măsurile antiepidemice, diminuarea cererii externe, impulsul fiscal cumulativ negativ de la începutul anului, aprecierea reală a monedei naționale, precum și condițiile agrometeorologice nefavorabile, care au afectat volumul producției agricole.
Pandemia COVID-19 implică un șir de incertitudini legate de impactul asupra recuperării economice, producția agricolă din anul viitor, momentul și magnitudinea ajustării tarifelor la serviciile reglementate.
BNM subliniază necesitatea monitorizării continue a situației macroeconomice create de implicațiile pandemiei, reiterând că, la momentul oportun, fără a prejudicia obiectivul său fundamental de asigurare a stabilității prețurilor, va veni cu măsurile necesare pentru menținerea unui nivel suficient de lichiditate a băncilor licențiate, în susținerea unui sistem bancar viabil și stabil.
Următoarea ședință cu privire la promovarea politicii monetare va avea loc pe data de 9 decembrie 2020.
