National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.
National Bank shall have the exclusive right to issue on the territory of the Republic of Moldova banknotes and coins as legal tender, as well as commemorative and jubilee banknotes and coins as legal tender and for numismatic purposes.

National Bank of Moldova is responsable for the compilation of the balance of payments, international investment position and the statistics of the external debt of the Republic of Moldova.

Исполнительный комитет Национального банка Молдовы единогласно принял решение повысить базовую ставку, применяемую к основным краткосрочным операциям денежной политики, на 1,0 процентных пункта, до 4,65% годовых. В то же время увеличатся процентные ставки по кредитам и депозитам овернайт на 1,0 процентных пункта - до 7,15% и, соответственно, до 2,15% годовых. Уровень обязательных резервов остается прежним.
Решение НБМ было принято учитывая инфляционное давление как со стороны предложения и совокупного спроса, так и рисков и неопределенностей, вызванных эволюцией пандемической ситуации.
Исполнительный комитет пришел к выводу, что преобладает постоянный риск инфляционного процесса для первой половины горизонта прогноза.
Согласно оценкам, инфляционные давления со стороны спроса будут продолжаться и в следующем периоде, поддержанные увеличением доходов населения (фонда заработной платы, социальной помощи, денежных переводов и т. д.) и увеличением объема потребительских кредитов и ипотек в контексте стимулирующих денежных условий, которые поддерживают потребление в ущерб экономии.
Таким образом, решение НБМ направлено на смягчение инфляционного давления, генерируемого ускорением внутреннего совокупного спроса, вызванного повышением потребления, и снижение последствия второго раунда шоков предложения, на фоне увеличения международных цен и импортированной инфляции.
Национальный банк будет следить и далее с осторожностью за внешними и внутренними рисками, связанными с инфляционным процессом, и событиями глобальной и национальной экономики, и в нужное время примет необходимые меры по денежной политике.
Решение Исполнительного комитета НБМ вступит в силу 6 сентября 2021 года.
